DW's Best 100 German Books
In 2018 Deutsche Welle aimed to create an 'ultimate list' of interesting German-language novels and stories published since 1900 that have been translated into English. This is not a best-of list and there is no ranking. It's a presentation of good books written by writers you may already know — or should definitely get to know. Some books are new; others are being rediscovered. These novels and stories traverse both "heavy" and "light" literature, and ultimately give the reader new insights into Germany, Austria, Switzerland — and even Europe.
Esquire's 80 Best Books Every Man Should Read (2015)
List published in 2015. An unranked, incomplete, utterly biased list of the greatest works of literature ever published. Esquire would follow-up this list with two new versions, 80 Books Every Person Should Read in 2016, and a revised "80 Books Every Man Should Read" in 2022.
Esquire's 80 Books Every Man Should Read (2022)
A revised version of their 2015 list. Back in 2015, Esquire published a list of “80 Books Every Man Should Read.” It wasn’t our finest moment. The list claimed to be “utterly biased,” and indeed it was. We received criticism from every corner of the Internet, and we deserved it. Only one title (A Good Man Is Hard to Find) was written by a woman, and fewer than ten were written by men of color. It was also a pretty boring set.

XLSemanal
XLSemanal, the most read Sunday magazine in Spain, and Zenda, a Spanish literary magazine collaborated to build this list. They wanted to build the ideal 101 books long library. They knew Don Quijote had to be in it, to find the other 100 they interviewed 133 Spanish celebrities including the then Prime Minister, writers, celebrity chefs and others. This is the initial ranked list of 196 books created from those interviews, readers later narrowed it down to 100.
